AccordioWe rent trees out on a monthly basis. Bonsai rentals is cheaper than flower, does not need any maintenance, no smelly water and we do all the work. All you need to do is sit banc and enjoy the bonsai. Oh….. and answer the questions from interested visitors. We swop the bonsai trees once a week, usually a Monday or Tuesday and then again come around to water the tree on a Thursday or Friday. You do not need to do anything but enjoy the tree. You can give us an indication of the size of tree you are looking for. If the tree is on a desk or reception counter, we normally suggest a medium to small tree so that it does not interfere with normal conversation. If it is a standalone or focus point at an entrance, we suggest bigger trees so that it makes a bigger impact. Our bonsai were used in several weddings as the main décor. Its something different, cost less than flowers and can make a big impact on your guests. We normally suggest smaller trees for tables, so that guests can still talk to each other without the bonsai being in the way. For an entrance or focal point, we suggest larger bonsai. We will suggest that you contact us to discuss different possibilities, size of trees as well as placement and what type of trees you like. We do rent out bonsai out for functions. Many different options are available so please feel free to contact us for further information. We also do bonsai gift pack as corporate gifts. We can include your company logo and colors into the design of the gift packs. Personalized gift packs will take some time to produce due to printing availability and material.
We specialize in rental for office and home. In the workplace bonsai can be displayed in the reception area, boardroom, waiting area as well as in offices and entrance halls. We will change the bonsai on a weekly basis, giving you each week a different bonsai to look at. We fully maintain the bonsai and you do not need to do anything else except to enjoy the bonsai. Cost for a bonsai will be determined by the number of bonsai you take. More trees will mean lower cost per tree. Please contact us for a more information, or let us know what you need and we will send you a quote.
We do not sign a contract with our clients. We work on a month to month basis and would prefer our customers rather happy than having them tied down with a contract.
We do offer different courses throughout the year. The courses will be related to seasonal work. Workshops will be beginners’ courses, repotting and styling workshops, rock planting workshops, etc. We publish our courses on the website at https://www.stonelantern.co.za/information/workshops/ We also do offer one-on-one workshops where you will work with one of our team who will assist you. Workshop our need to be booked in advance to ensure that one of our professionals are available to assist you. Cost of workshops R320/hour. Our beginners course are from 09:00 till 14:00 at the nursery in our classroom. There can be up to 12 persons in a workshop. Minimum number of people will be 5. Bookings are essential as some of the courses are fully booked well in advance. The first part of the course covers theory and during the last part you will prune, style and repot your own tree. The course includes the following: A workbook that you can take home A tree in a black bag (that you will style and design) Bonsai Wire Bonsai Soil Training pot Name tag to write the details of the tree on. After the workshop you will have a bonsai tree that you styled and repotted during the course that you can take home.

We will send you an invoice at the end of each month that can be paid by EFT.
We do sell bonsai starter kits. We packed out bonsai starter kits in a sturdy box that can be used for display purposes in retail, can easily be wrapped as a gift, and it is strong enough to send by courier. We can also customize the box as a corporate gift with your company branding details and colors on it. Delivery and the service of the bonsai is included in the rental price
We have a hospital/ boarding section where we look after sick trees or where you can book you bonsai in for the period that you are going on holiday or working away from home. You can go away from home while we will take care of your tree until you return. We charge a fee per day for boarding or care of sick trees.
